What I am looking at is something to heat about 500sq feet. I will be running straight thru the roof in a corner. I don't want to have to run 1000' of gas line. I though about a zero clearance fireplace, but would feel much safer with a close fire box heating all night.

Had a black iron stove in one of the living rooms in the house where I spent my early childhood in Virginia.

Loved it. Wonderful radiant heat. Could reheat pizza on top of it.

Pets learn about proximity faster than kids.

ETA:

I'm aware that's not what you were referring to... just had a nostalgic moment.

Heck, I can sit in front my fireplace, drink beer and be content with life.

I have around 300' that was given to me. Problem is that I would hate to being paying each month for gas that I wouldn't be using. They charge you no matter want. Same for power and water. I already am doing that for the fishing camp.

No chopping wood, no cleaning up ashes, no embers popping out onto the floor, less fire risk in general, no having a sweep clean the system...

Propane or gas all day.

Yes, a pita.

Not going to be a problem.

True, that is why I'm looking at a wood burner box. Open fireplaces scare the crap out of me. I don't burn mine all night.

Mornin' friends and neighbors!

Well, if the world is going to end, at least we don't have to listen to gumps yell,"Rawl Tide!", anymore... especially a certain gump who is on hiatus at the moment... but still lurks, he won't come in here and defend himself and Bama.......

Hey Ellis Dee.

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

Morning OT.

Hey fish,troubl,dyslexic.

If you'd rather have a heater you could install a 5 Burner Infer-Red Heater,run 15+ feet of copper,get a Propane Co.to set you a 250 gallon tank.

No hidden Natural-Gas Co. charges.

Anybody got a time frame for the end?

Wondering what I need to get done at work before the end strikes.
