oday is just us, no big meal, wine and charcuterie . Tomorrow is family and standing rib roast and glazed ham on dat grill.

My sister in law said she is making appetizer type stuff for today. Then we will head to a friends house for tamales/fajitas/mexican stuff. Its what they do in Texas. I am hoping we get some of the santa building for my niece out of the way early. If not we will drunkedly build shite tonight.
I will sleep at my brothers then wake up with white russians, mimosas, espresso martinis, and some sort of breakfast. Then gumbo, baked mac and cheese, turkey breast, ham, mashed potatoes, etc.

Why are some of you getting up at 4am on the weekend?

I get up usually between 6-7ish on days I’m off. Butters is locked up in his little doggy tent thing at night and will start whining between 6-7 am to be let out and be fed.

Bf gets the kids for Christmas Eve and day so he is about to go pick them up. Lazy day today around the house. Maybe take the golf cart to go see lights tonight.

Tomorrow opening Christmas gifts in the am with a big breakfast and then he is cooking a prime rib. I’ll go pick up my mom and siblings later tomorrow afternoon and bring them over to celebrate with us.

I’ve been having the envie’ for some gumbo like my Momma cooked. Was going to cook some today.

Called my sister to wish her Merry Christmas and she has a gallon and a half for me.
Her’s is as close to Momma’s as you will ever get. Plus a gallon and a half of dirty rice full of chicken livers.

Morning all - shopping is done, about to start on the prep work for the feast tomorrow. Coffee is in the mug, eggs and bacon in the belly. It's good to be home for a few days.

I have my first post-treatment pet scan on Tuesday, so while yall are at mass/church tomorrow - toss in a good word for this to come back clean for your buddy Horsemeat. I'm a combined 0-5 on these scans so I'm hoping 6th time is the charm and I can stay working.

My grill was out of whack, not sure if probes or pellets. Ended up pulling early to finish in the oven as one probe was reading 210 and other 130 for chicken. Moved the chicken, switched probes and it read 260 and 160 so I pulled, rested and checked again. This time both probes (Meatr probes this time) read 120ish.

I never used their probes and I use a sous vide to re-calibrate the inkbird probes every few months.

Nice Teech
