You're right. I'm sure all-out fallout from man made E.L.E devices would have no noticeable effect on the atmosphere.

The earth is always changing. 40 years ago we were worried about a new ice age, now we're worried about everything melting. The issue that I have is that leaders propose massive, expensive solutions to a problem that isn't close to being understood.

I like how you automatically assume humans are the reason for the rise in temps and that electric vehicles are a solution.
See my last chart showing C02 levels in the atmosphere. It is a huge vertical jump ever since we've entered the industrial and fossil fuels era. There is a direct correlation with this and the increase in temperatures.
I'm not saying it is going to solve anything necessarily if you read my post. I think it's a good effort and step in the right direction that many people are scared to try.
Yes I realize there is a dependency right now on fossil fuels, everyone knows that.
Hydro,Solar, wind energy - that is what we need to try and harness if we want to sustain life.

Ok, so you and I both believe the earth has been getting progressively warmer? Is that right? Because that's all I've said in this here thread, while you're talking about white privilege and other random shite.

I'm saying that the earth is always changing. It's been that way for over 4 billion years.
There are parallels in political tactics for both issues.

Since we've only been accurately recording temperatures for what, 130 years.
As an earth scientist, I recommend coming to grips with the fact that a lot of this shite is not preventable.

Good. I'm glad we have come to an agreement. Now maybe we can discuss whether or not there's anything man can do about climate change.
I think some small changes make sense, but we must be wary that these are practical solutions and not simply financially driven by progressives. On the whole though, I don't know that large-scale reforms will make much of a difference.
Good talk

Water is wet.
This is the attitude that gets humans in trouble. We're smart enough to try and fix a problem, but we're too arrogant to make an attempt.
No one thinks it's a problem that the Carbon Dioxide levels were 280-300 PPM for millions of years, yet to increase to 500+ PPM in only a few hundred years?
And within that same time period, we have seen a significant increase in global warming?

The science he is involved with deals directly with the earth.

I agree to all points... humans are way too insignificant to destroy the earth, but humans can destroy humans.
The earth and life on earth will continue to thrive long after humans are gone. Look at areas like Fukushima or Chernobyl, the radiation drove the humans away, but nature quickly reclaimed its territory.
Fukushima
Chernobyl
So instead of trying to save the Earth, how about saving mankind.

People who think global warming is a "hoax" are the equivalent of people who thought the world was flat. Complete fricking brainless morons incapable of critical thought

You're comparing actual science (temperature measurements and ice density measurements)
Well Pecker, considering the planet is 4.5 Billion years old and you are referencing temp and Ice data from the last 120 years, you are drawing pretty damning conclusion from a .0000027% sample size. For reference, its the equivalent of determining your average speed in a 1000 mile trip by taking a sample of your speed over 1.71 inches.
So if you folks want to have a discussion on how we can economically encourage innovation and efficiency in processes and machines and reward that innovation, then fine. But if you want to discuss fines and offset credits, or rewarding companies making useless products simply because they are green and it looks good in the Washington Post, then I've got no use for you.

I was asking for clarification. Explain your statement you pretentious douche.
Posted on 6/23/16 at 2:05 pm to rebeloke
If you argue that a single temperature record is a case against global warming, you must also accept that pregnancy due to rape makes all abortions from any circumstance acceptable.
It is the same order of reasoning.

if you don't believe in climate change then you're an idiot, this tards take the same approach as the morons that said smoking isn't harmful, the entirety of the scientific world says its real so get over it

You speak in generalities and make obvious statements that bring no value to the discussion.
"The earth has been changing for 4 billion years"
No shite - I'm pretty sure most kids in elementary school have a grasp on this.
Lots of Americans have this type of attitude which is why we have so many people that fail to "believe" in Global Warming.
We need to be moving to sustainable energy and finding ways to reduce the global temperature, or we're going to make this an even harder problem to solve for future generations.
