It's a very broad definition of Civil War widow. Reasonable people understand that to mean "a woman whose husband died fighting in the Civil War." In this case, the "welll ackshuallllly..." neckbeards are referring to a woman who was born in 1914 marrying a Civil War veteran in the 1930s when he was in his late 80s. Technically, yes, she was the widow of a Civil War soldier.

Reasonably, no, she isn't a "Civil War widow". That's as silly as it would be to call my sainted mother (no pics) a "Vietnam War widow" when my father passes away. They didn't even meet until 8 years after he left the military.

Sorry...widow of a civil war veteran is more accurate. But it’s trivia man...you really want to split hairs? They received pensions. Look up “last civil war widow”
