There was more information posted on the other thread. They didn't kick out because she looked like a boy. They disqualified her because the team had her listed as a boy on the roster.

Was that in the transgender thread or was this it's own? I just did a search of "soccer" and didn't see it.

Insurance card? Lol

Do you bring your child's birth certificate anytime you travel within the country?

Didn't think so.

Let's assume for just a second this isn't this child's first day of soccer. That at least a couple of times in her life she's played on an organized team or perhaps even a tourney. Let's now assume if there were any prior doubts from those instances, the family would have been prepared with a birth certificate.

To me? This is a case of an a-hole tournament director and the dadgum kid pays the price. It's going way too far to make a point if you're that a-hole, IMO.

I'm talking about now. And now that news has the story. Why are they not just easily proving they are telling the truth? Snap a pic and show it.

It's not like interview happened at the tournament

Is posting it now going to change anything? I'm not putting my daughter's private info out for the world to see.

This sounds like an isolated incident.

I bet it was a smart arse coach who thought it would be funny to list her as a boy.

Whoops.

Mili's coach says the mistake was a typo by a registrar. He tried to correct the error at the tournament. Mili's family claims they went so far as to show her insurance card to tournament organizers - proving Mili is indeed a girl.

“We had a doctor's physical form and it gave a description and it said her age and female, so we showed them that but they wouldn't look at it,” said Cruz Hernandez, Mili's brother.

While slight better than the sensationalist headling of kicking the entire team out because she looks like a boy... this is still pretty ridiculous to kick an entire youth team out over a typo that can easily be proven wrong.

I don't have a daughter, but I have a niece. And I know how I'd react to that situation...

If "the president" of the tournament really held his ground and wouldn't let her play because she "looks like a boy", and especially if he banned the entire team, I'd slap the shite out of that guy. Little girls already deal with enough insecurities about their appearance. Something like that could have a lasting impact on their self esteem. And I've already dealt with too many female insecurities in my private life.

I'm not saying I'd beat the shite out of him. But I'd being willing to deal with the inconvenience of a misdemeanor to someone that insulted my family to that degree. And I've only been in 3-4 fights in my life, and none in the last 15 years. I'm a pacifist by nature. But frick that guy.

Why would there even be a box for gender on the roster for a girl's tournament anyway?

Damn, and just after I posted my rant. There seems like there's more to this story then either party is letting on. Why would a girl's soccer team even have a roster with genders on it? It also seems like a traveling team would have all the birth certificates on file, and would have to send them to tournaments with traveling teams. It's not a local park league where they submit them when they sign up.

This is idiotic. If it's an all girls tournament, why are they even listing gender? And IT'S frickING LIST. I can see why PLAYING a male in a female tournament would be a violation. I cannot grasp why making a list with a typo is grounds for suspension.

All they need to do is produce a birth certificate and the case is closed... But no, they produce an insurance card instead...

When I played ball, I needed my birth certificate to prove my age, what's the difference...?

No! The AMA is caving! The MDs must now list the sex per the patient's self identified sex.

So this little one says she is an 8 yo girl, then she is an 8 yo girl. Ends all confusion.

SHM! This world is not in a good way
