I really don't get why people post these stories. I think to take the time to link it and watch people discuss it on a sports message board, there is something a little off with OP.

I bet there are small towns where officials used to keep something like this from going to court because of the publicity. Run the guy's whole family out of town or lock him up, but never give the victim the satisfaction of knowing he wouldn't do it again.
