Yeah, I remember seeing an interview with her a few years ago. She truly wanted to be a serious actress, but the Ginger role typecast her and she couldn't get many serious acting roles. And she was still in her 20's when it ended I think.

The Professor couldn’t patch a hole in a fricking boat.
If you watch that series carefully, you’ll note that the Professor easily fricked up with his harebrained schemes as many times as Gilligan. He just never got any guff for it because he was supposedly “the brain”.
