IAH-HOU or HOU-IAH routes don't show up on Google Flights, Kayak or United's site as a valid itinerary.

Here's a link to surface transport:

I do what I can to help. Yeah there's no flights from HOU to IAH (at least anymore). OP better book an 8pm flight from IAH and hope for the best.

Take 45 N to 610 E, ride til the Hardy Till Rd N and exit at IAH. Still going to be a crap shoot.

This is the route I would take. Bring quarters for the tollway if you dont have eztag. I think its something like $3 total in tolls. I would count on taking at least 1hr to arrive at the airport. My general rule for flying is to leave for the airport 2 hrs before departure time. In your case, I'd consider bumping it up to 2.5 hrs. may be overkill, but missing a flight SUCKS

Most of the airlines in larger cities with multiple airports would do this to re-position aircraft. Now with security the way it is and the hub airports getting more stringent on their rules with the main carriers they've all but eliminated these flights....or they'll just fly them empty.

I know there used to be SNA to LAX flights, MIA to FLL, and LGA/EWR to JFK.

I have a soft spot in my heart for SU as everyone I've personally known from there has been a good egg and of course SU's link to the horrible tragedy of PanAm 103.

You are doing nothing to change my opinion of the Orange.

All it takes is one wreck. Took 1.5 hours to get from downtown to the Beltway yesterday at 7 AM.

I think that got rid of that a few years ago when Continental went bankrupt and restructured (before United bought them out).

To the OP, can you afford a helicopter ride? Might be your best bet that time of day. A couple of the pastors out there have them, maybe you can borrow it if you make a donation to the Lord!

I wasn't sure, but I remembered taking that little 20 minute shuttle a couple of times in years past.

Continental restructured in 1990, 20 years before it merged with United, Continental and United were both suffering losses ant the time of the merge but were both very strong at the time.

It's 37 minutes right now with virtually no traffic. I would take 45 north to 610, around the east side of the loop and then probably to I69.

I would go up to 610 and take it around to either 59 north or to the Hardy Toll Road. I believe there's an exit off of the Hardy that would dump you off at the airport.

Yep, both Hardy and 69 have direct exits to the Airport.
