Everytime I go to Lakeview Grocery or Winn Dixie they have a stack of blank applications at the liquor counter

Walk in, ask if hiring.

If hiring, get an application

Your cousin is too dumb to figure this out on his own

Working at Whole Foods wouldn't be a bad deal. No uniform other than an apron, more upscale clientele, no late hours, fairly upbeat store experience.

Let him take the initiative and figure it out. Employers tend to frown on the parents coming in and filling the apps out for the kids.

go to any of their websites and click on careers... if the people that actually work there could figure out how to apply, your 16 year old cousin shouldnt have any issues figuring it out

With Walmart there is a kiosk inside every store to fill out an application. Employees get 10% off most merchandise, a 401(k) plan(walmart matches up to 6%), good medical insurance, stock options, paid vacation, and holiday pay. But you'll have to put up with bad working conditions. and they don't hire 16 year olds.

I understand they are a great place to work and pay above industry standards. However, they are apparently pretty selective so an inexperienced 16-year-old might have a hard time getting hired. I worked at McD's my last two years of high-school and saved enough to buy a car and pay for college (college was cheap in those days). I agree with a previous poster that someone with a year or two of fast food experience is worth taking a look at...they learn a lot of important basic work skills.

Tell him to get a gig bagging groceries if he can find a place that still offers the service. Best job I ever had and I have days where I wish I had never quit.
