This plane was always too big too fail.

Everyone likes to criticize Boeing, but Boeing did exactly what their customers wanted. Take the 737 frame, modernize the flight control system, and integrate into LEAP engines. All the while seemingly trying to dovetail the MAX's into NG flight certification, saving Airlines hundreds of millions in pilot recertifications and maintenance training. Add the time into service factors placed on Boeing by the airlines.

It was a bridge too far for Boeing, which already had the perfect replacement for the 737...the 757

Shockingly only 1 death. Legend has it that a passenger noticed a 'large crack' while entering the plane and said nothing.

This Air Disasters episode was amazing. Favorite Prime Video binge show. They need to make more episodes available.

YouTube has a bunch of videos. I've watched probably every one multiple times.

Yeah. I started on YouTube then went to prime when I finished all of those. Prime has 11 seasons but 2 aren’t included and they want $25 each for those seasons. Yes, I’m an Air Disasters Junkie

I never choose the aircraft, I choose the airline. I take what I get. And I've flown on a Max before and it did not pitch down. The last flight I had a week ago with Southwest they flew to a perfect landing in very low visibility at Dallas Love. We saw one building sticking up through the low clouds. I didn't see anything else until right before we landed. I trust those pilots.

So am I. I am considering if its worth going to school to become an investigator.

The Pan-Am 759 crash in 1982 actually clipped trees in my grandparents yard before going down. I've held some of the wreckage in the 'Kenner museum' which technically was not open (still don't think it is).

Scary stuff man. I tried (as a layman) to explain that crash to people and they don't get how 'a little wind' can take down a plane. After a few minutes I usually just say aliens or terrorist did it.

That would be amazing. Are you a pilot?

I used to travel 90% for work and loved flying. Experienced 2 terrifying incidents and started getting panic attacks when I walked into an airport. Flying now requires enough Xanax to kill an elephant but I’m determined to get over this. We travel on private a lot (company jet) and I do better there. Started watching Air Disasters to desensitize and became hooked. Oddly, it makes me feel better about flying

Well I’m just a terrified passenger who finds odd comfort in knowing how all the other plane crashes happened so no judgement from me

You might already familiar with the NTSB accident database. If not, just fill in start/end dates at the top. The wider spread in dates the longer it will take to pull up. If you already know the incident/accident you are looking for, just fill in the blanks.

I'd still rather fly any Boeing, and that says something about Airgreyhound.
