Or, maybe they don't care what the energy source as long as they own it too? Shell and Exxon are the largest providers and researchers of alternative fuels and solar power. Oil baron T. Boone Pickens has been leading the charge for wind energy for decades. They don't care where the energy comes from as long as they make money off of it.

I actually read an article about this earlier this morning. It basically told people to calm down about the EM drive since some were apparently freaking out about the things this thing is capable of doing (in the relatively near future):

Riding through hyperspace isn't like dusting crops. You have to make the proper calculations before you make your jump to light lest you run into a comet, planet, moon , asteroid , etc

So since mars is 140 million miles from earth, to get there in 70 days will mean that the a ship have to travel about 83,333 MPH.
They will need to launch a bunch of robot ships before a manned mission.
