God blesses people with opportunities. Opportunities to serve him, opportunities to grow, opportunities to have children, and opportunities to help others. He blessed a couple with a child. He blessed others with intellect and a drive to help those with sickness and disease. And through these opportunities, driven people were able to save a fellow human. God doesn’t determine every little thing that can possibly happen to us. If you look to him, he simply gives you the chance to serve and be blessed at points in your life. And in his forgiveness , he blesses some of us with opportunities even though we turn away from Him.

And for what it’s worth you theological simpleton, I am not Church going and definitely quite the sinner.

Edit: no need for a smartass to point out that I didn’t capitalize his or him every time.

He does. It’s just human nature that everything is someone else’s fault or that you didn’t get a fair shake. It doesn’t take much for you to realize your blessed and help others. Really doesn’t.

i personally do not believe in god - i do not fault anyone who does - to each their own.

what I do not get is that if the 5th Commandment is Thou Shalt not kill, how can you follow that belief - yet be ok with more people being killed in the name of god than anything else? seems hypocritical to me.

this George Carlin quote resonates with me:

Religion has convinced people that there's an invisible man ... living in the sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time. But he loves you.

It surely does anger you that other people have something/someone to believe in. Must be lonely thinking your just here for a few years then back to the dirt with no purpose..

So you have to resort to believing in fairy tales? And millions of peoples have been killed from the hands of christians, jews, muslims, all in the name of god! How stupid must you people be?

Given all of “his” actions since the dawn of time, it’s painfully obvious that god is actually a vindictive female.

God and childhood cancers seems contradictory.
To some, God provides wonderful inspiration and life leadership.
But to cure one child of cancer, while the parents of hundreds of others are left weeping after burying their child, is a test on believing in God for most.

I thought an omnipotent being like God isn't supposed to have human-like qualities like showing disgust or jealousy.

Jeez, arguing from ignorance. God say in the Book of Exodus that he is a jealous god.
I don’t even believe any of this but at least I’ve done the research.
