Yeah, and he also got out of jail before the scheduled surgery. He was released October 2, the day before the surgery.
Now the kid is suffering because the hospital won't go through with it because the dad had a recent arrest.

Again, people are just ignoring this. Significant infections are generally a contraindication to transplant and have to be fully eradicated before the transplant is done.

If you actually read the article it goes on to explain the reasoning behind not letting him donate. They want to make sure the donor will be able to get through the difficult recovery process that comes with donating an organ. Getting arrested for armed robbery and evading 5 days before you're supposed to save your daughter's life shows judgment poor enough to believe that he won't have the judgment to properly rehab from such a process. So they want him to prove he can commit to something for 3 months.

The article mentions the ability of the donor to basically be able to recover, and I guess having been in jail affects that in some way I don't know?
