Each of my children have an Ar-15, even my daughters. They shoot them often enough to be very proficient.

Have you learned them the appropriateness of not bringing it to school or work and shooting 30 people? It’s important for them to learn this.

then what are we even arguing about?

I’m arguing against bullshite generic statements some people have made not taking any variables into effect and deemed any other alternative method was horrible parenting.

I’m glad you too are on team variables matter. Welcome aboard.

You going to advocate for the arrest of parents whose 16 yr old kid had a wreck and killed somebody?

Just a FYI, 14 is often the guideline for educational neglect charges for parents in several states. Parents can be charged for neglecting to feed/clothe/care for their child (even if often difficult to prove). Or ensuring they’re going to school.

So no, I don’t have an issue with a parent being charged here given the level of neglect. They handed a firearm to a child who had previously threatened to kill others and from all accounts without any effort to get the kid mental health services.

75% of 16 year olds are reckless drivers. Time to start rounding up parents!

You’re sky screaming without reading basic context in people responding to each other like a Kardashian level attention whore.

We get it. You can’t grasp the nuance of a message board conversation.

School? Yes. Work? Most of them. One of them uses his M4 and or M135 at work on the regular.

You made very definitive comments about what is never appropriate. You made an arse of yourself and can’t escape it now. Sorry. Just admit you’re wrong.

I responded to a poster who said he was given guns 30 years ago at the age of 14 with maturity levels of 14 year olds are vastly different today than 30 years ago.

You’re big mad that you can’t understand the conversation that was being held within the thread.

Good god. This isn’t about maturity or appropriateness of learning not to shoot people. You’re saying dumb arse shite.

You think I can’t opinion off of something you tell another poster? Jesus fricking Christ. You have gotten skull drugged in this thread. Go hide your car from your teenagers.

I go back and forth on it, but in the end I am not willing to sacrifice my rights as an adult because children aren't exercising that same right responsibly. Just about every right has an age requirement associated with it. A 17-year-old has plenty of time to learn how to shoot. What's the hurry? People grow up slow now.

Argues maturity shouldn’t be a variable considered in giving a 14 year old a firearm (not the kid in the OP BTW). But isn’t mature enough to understand contextual clues or nuance in a message board conversation.

Why allow them to drive?
Why are we allowing children to choose genital mutilations?
Why aren’t all children not mandated to go to blueballsgrass school of appropriateness?
