If you are scheduled for surgery you are told to eat nothing after midnight, right? That's a good idea if your surgery is scheduled before lunchtime.
My last surgery was scheduled for noon on a Wednesday. I was on a clear liquid diet from midnight that Sunday up until midnight the night before. Got to the hospital and wasn't on the schedule, even though I had been there a few days prior for pre-op. I was livid. Luckily I was able to get in that day.
A few months before I was at the doctor, did the sign in sheet and saw multiple people come and go. When I finally went to question the front desk, they said they forgot I was there.
I don't mind a wait, I just wish they could get their scheduling and check in process right.

Hey Jack arse. When I hear of another business that charges an individual $17,000 for a one night stay in their facility (frick you OLOL) then we can address your whiny arse post. Deal with it.

I bet you show a lot of empathy for your sick patients. Maybe being a physician wasn't your calling?

Hopefully @real understands that negotiating pharma is just the tip of the iceberg. The whole industry needs a haircut from top to bottom. If that doesn't happen, it's Obamacare 2.0 at best.

90% of you fricks could stand another 2 years of pharmacology classes to maybe gain a little insight into the MOAs for the drugs you blanket prescribe in lieu of doing any actual troubleshooting. But that would add to patient times and make you sink a good amount of capital into rapid testing equipment you're not necessarily expected to have available, wouldn't it? shite, you may even have to call in a compound drug script!
you're in a failing service business structure. so are many other professions. but you try to make up for it by cutting corners in regards to your patients' health just because you're feeling that heat from the regulation/red tape side and don't have the skills needed to navigate your way through it. that's funny for a profession that prides themselves on improving the lives of others.
how about offer up even a glimmer of precision medicine for your patients, and maybe they'll respect your currently worthless time more.
and sadly, all of you will continually be years behind in your ability to prescribe the latest (and in most cases, vastly superior) synthesized / biopharm meds on the market. oh well

What are you even suggesting? That rant was occasionally coherent but you still lost me.

Here, let me play doc for a second. "There's actually a couple suggestions/jabs at doctor practices in there. You just probably can't see them or understand them because youre not an MD like me, but trust me, they're there. Explaining it any further or proving it with a state of the art analysis tool wouldn't be worth either of our time. Have a nice day! SEE YA BACK IN A WEEK TO MAKE SURE I GOT IT RIGHT!"

Medtiger that's a fair point, I do generate more revenue when the client leaves then when I'm meeting with him or her. Docs can't do that at all.

TLDR
Probably said already on one of the pages, but I'll repeat the question anyway.
Who whines more about their job, teachers or "healthcare providers"?

Whose fault is it when I have to wait 45 minute past my appt time to see a doctor?

Post of the thread right here.
I love how the doctors bitch about the disrespectful patients, but find no issue with disrespecting the time of 30 people, bc scheduling too many patients is necessary to make up for the 3 that will skip their appointment.

I don't want to be coddled by my doctor. fix my body so I can get back out there. healthcare people and teachers are the worst. They think they should be patted on the back all the time. Do they pat the auto technician on the back for making sure their vehicle is safe to transport their family? Odds are they don't even think about that stuff. too full of themselves

It's not only jacking up the prices... it's the fact that our healthcare is the only business that can provide a service THEN inform you of the cost after you've received it. Could you imagine a mechanic doing that to a doctor?

If you pay your bill in cash in full at the time of service most office will discount you significantly as the cost of tracking down all the non-payers gets expensive.
Has anyone received a discount on their medical bill as a result of paying cash?

IF you are actually sick you do.....
A little bit, or you will be one of those folks who run to yelp or an MD rating site to say "ZERO bedside manner".
Healthcare is crumbling. I am watching it become a service like lawn care. People aren't getting paid pennies but you are finding less and less who want to do the work. Internal Medicine? Med/Surg hospital bedside nurse? They do a bulk of the lifting and who wants to do it? Who IS doing it? Somebody with an accent.
There aren't many old country docs anymore. They are now Dr. "Patel". Why? Because they are willing to work for what the wage has become. Who wants to bust their arse in medical school all those years to just crack into a six figure salary? an Indian dude doesn't mind. He knows what it would be like to work in India vs here.
Same goes for nurses. The shittier the area/specialty/job, the thicker the accent is going to be. I've been in it since 1998. It has to be (calling is too strong and cheesy a word) desire to help. Somewhat like a cop or fireman (not really, not gonna die) in that it is a good living wage, but when you need to run TOWARD gunfire or INTO a burning building or you are elbows deep into wiping a 300 lb dialysis patients arse, you have to wonder if there is an easier way. There is. Cops become detectives or investigators or consultants. Firemen become supervisors and inspectors. Nurses become case managers, house supervisors, or other patient care areas with less shite.

The doctor I go to has appointments every 15 minutes. They do not have "longer" appointments. I guess I need to change docs.

you know not everyone falls into these two cateagories. Maybe in your feeble mind they do.
While I am appreciative towards the doctors that have fixed me over the years its their job.
