This thread title is inane. If debt covers car notes and mortgages, that's not really a bad thing. And hell, credit card debt is a common thing and not necessarily bad either. If you have a credit card, you have credit card debt. Plain and simple. At any given moment, I probably have several thousand dollars in credit card debt, but I pay it off every month. Why would I not have credit card debt if I get rewards and shite for using the card and no penalties if I pay it off in time? As for student debt, sorry Congress decided to federally back student loans which led to schools having access to nearly unlimited funds and giving them the ability to increase tuition at rates quadruple the rate of inflation.
75% in debt just doesn't tell the story here.

Because we all know the only 2 living choices for millennials these days. Buy a house or live in mom's basement.

Just busting balls. I could be debt free if I chose. I'm 27 and own 3 houses. Article doesn't mention anything about good debt... it ain't a problem when you got someone else paying your mortgages for you.

Sometimes it's the garage apartment. Not everyone has a basement, after all.

I spend a fortune on rent. About 1,300 miles from my parent's house.

Pissing money away is buying a house when you know you won't be in it long then selling it later while paying fees on both ends while building up almost know equity and no appreciation.
Retards like you are the reason most of this country has no idea how to handle their finances.
