Gen X Tigers - need a memory gap filler circa 2000-2001

Help me complete a half-lost memory here. Fred’s Jager washed it away.
There was a dude named Tommy Santora writing for the Reveille around this time. He wrote an article that made him persona non grata on campus for a while. Can’t for the life of me remember what it was though. My deadbeat friends are no help. Little assistance?

Oh yeah I know Tommy and remember those shenanigans well
what an idiot but just young and dumb

2000-2001 would have been millennials and not Gen X in college.

1980 is the end of Gen X. I don’t need the help of anyone younger than that.

Gen X would have been most of the upper classmen

Was it as bad as Dan Kern dissing TD as a haven for racists in the Revelie?

What was the context of the article(s) though? Can’t remember.

I was devoted reader of the reveille at this time and I vaguely remember something with this guy. That’s all I got

Tommy Santora was a real piece of shite back in those Reveille days.
IIRC, I even wrote a letter to the editor about him one time and how much he sucked. He was basically rolling with the Skip Bayless model of shitting all over good things for attention.

He said they should stop bringing Mike on the field during games.

Wrong as usual

1981 were the last of Gen X but technically both right the freshmen in college were the oldest millennials

Was he the gay blade that wrote disparaging articles every single week about LSU during Saban’s first year in BR?
Then he tried to act like some big homer and wrote an article comparing LSU, specifically Rohan, to Braveheart and William Wallace when they beat UT?

Tommy Santora
Was he the one who ragged on Bradyball at its peak and made everyone irate?
ETA: I could be wrong but I think he wrote a column predicting that Chris Porter and Auburn would stomp LSU. Brady & Co pulled off the W and then this Santora fella got a ton of backlash... Or something

2001 would have had a freshman class from the high school class of 2001 which would have been born in 1983.
How is that wrong?

Is it possible there were others at LSU during that time besides freshmen? Possibly others more aware of what’s was going on on campus?

So this tracks. My memory of that name is rooted around that magical season. You are on it I think.
