I put non ethanol in everything. I finally got my wife to understand this.
You pay more up front but the mileage is better to a point where the cost evens out.
One of our vehicles runs like crap on a 10% ethanol fuel. Non ethanol in that thing and it’s fine.
I make whiskey with corn. I don’t want to waste it as a biofuel.

Years ago (late 90s) my FIL was at a small grocery store that sold gas. They'd sell 87, 89. and 93 octane gas. And Diesel. At the time he was there a supply truck was there dumping gas into the fill hole. Being the talkative guy my FIL was he started talking to the guy dumping the gas. Thats when he noticed that there were only 2 fill holes. Red = gas and green = diesel.
I'll let you figure the rest out.
That's why I only use Top Tier certified companies. Ask the trucker at a Shell station. I asked him if regular and premium is snake oil, along with are all gas the same? He said there are inspectors who go to the gas stations, take samples, and test it. If its off spec form Shell's standards, someone is in big trouble.
TO the OP, only use Premium if the engine requires it. If its recommended you can still do regular.
I found out over time that using regular or premium from a top tier station is good for the engine. No knocks or pinging. I used to get those issues in college when I bought from the cheap stations.

Ethanol has a crazy high octane rating.
Would be interesting to know why your car can't run it.

What color did you get? That old Toyota gold from the 90’s just looks so classy.

White but I wanted the dark blue. Dark tint and now you’re looking pretty slick

Check your engine, and may God's love be with you,

Higher octane gas helps prevent LSPI (low speed pre ignition), more commonly known as knock. A significant knock can cause all sort of damage to pistons, ringlands etc. basically meaning an engine rebuild.
If your car has been engineered for 93, you need to use it, or you’ll be at risk for a knock event. Also, if you’re under warranty, the modern ECUs can detects fuel quality and pull timing. The ECU logs those events and the car company can use that data to deny a warranty claim for a damaged engine if you’ve been using the wrong fuel.

One of those top tier you mentioned recently revealed in a town hall that only the Premium and Diesel are actually theirs at their gas stations. They allow the station owner to buy and sell cheaper “regular” as their brand as a courtesy for the owner to make a higher profit.

None of this happened. Amazing how dumb some of you are

It feels like we have this thread a lot.
The bottom line is: If your gas cap says, "Premium unleaded fuel only", then you go premium. If not, then go lowest octane unless you have knocking that is attributable to octane issues. Then you use the lowest octane rating that will not cause knocking.
Hope this helps (finally) -
