I think what you don't realize is that you are the exception in the US rather than the norm.

Your posts have made me no longer have sympathy for retards.

I'd venture to say my savings rate is more than the people bitching about spending $4 a gallon on gasoline.

Look, I get that you're playing the role of the intelligent, childless contrarian who just "gets it" more than all of the other dummies on here, but you really need to get out of your own bubble and take a look at how our American economy works and the various jobs required to keep the machine going. Not everyone in our country can just up and move to rent some apartment close to work or simply change jobs so they don't have to drive. The USA is a lot bigger than you, your wife, and your dog.

Plus, you do realize that high gas prices and inflation affect every single segment of our supply chain? You will 100% have higher rent when your lease is up if your landlord has to pay more for repairs and/or taxes due to increased property values. YOU will eat that, not the property owner.

I'm not playing any role. I'm stating my opinion.

And yeah, I know fuel prices have a far reaching effect on the economy.

If I have any gripe here this morning, it's with people blaming a single person for situations so complex economists with years of experience don't routinely reach a consensus on the cause.

I didn't vote for Biden, and I wish he wasn't the president. But it's so frustrating to see people get upset about a single facet of life and blame it on the president. Whether that's Obama, Trump, or Biden is irrelevant. One man is rarely to blame, yet most of the country wants to pin it on a single person.

It's lazy.

What about when that one person is solely responsible due to the EOs he signed when he came into office. Biden himself could end all this today. Just reverse those EOs. Back to new leases on fed land and open the pipeline like a magic wand

Gas is one of those things that with higher prices takes time for the demand to change. People travel less start buying more fuel efficient vehicles, or take public transport more.

It’s not something that can change over night.

But the problem is once again the federal government is causing this. Our fricking gas prices don’t have to be high because of Ukraine. Plus they were already high if you didn’t notice.

It’s his administration and the Democratic Party.

Good luck heating your house in the winter with a windmill.

We’d just tell you to move.

This conflict is a convenient excuse for this administration to pass the buck on their failures.

Excuse maybe, but it wouldn't surprise me if Joe and Putin talked about it all beforehand. Got to distract American's from the economy, the border, the EO's the policies, etc.

You are astoundingly naïve -- and I'm being incredibly kind in phrasing it that way.

Gas prices do not just affect the price of putting fuel in one's car. It's not a mere matter of "prioritizing" as you put it.

Gas prices will affect the cost of everything: groceries, heating/cooling, medicine, medical care, clothing, school supplies, travel, home construction, every single good you need or use will go up. Explain how moving closer to one's job addresses that. We all want to know.

So is it just a matter of "prioritizing" when a dozen eggs costs $6, $7 or $8? I suppose you would say one could choose to forego buying eggs, then what? Raising chickens? Great, the cost of animal feed necessary for that endeavor is about to sky rocket, too.

You need to prioritize a reality check for yourself.
