Everyday that passes means Iran is getting weaker and weaker. The strait will be reopened soon, the refineries will be repaired.

Lloyds of London canceled insurance and the ships won’t move without insurance.

War in the middle east and still gas is cheaper than under Biden.
Gas Prices Under President Biden
High Average: Gas prices have been higher under Biden than previous administrations, with an average around $3.50–$3.60 per gallon during his term so far.
Peak Prices: National average prices reached a record high of over $5.00 per gallon in mid-2022.

US is providing insurance and escort.
Though a lot of ships won't move because insurance doesn't exactly restore your boat or your life.

Mine jumped from $2.59 to $2.94. When they started bombing Iran I filled up my truck. I already have 5 or 6 five gallon cans full left over from my winter generator emergency supply.

It cost me 23% more to fill up the PJ to St Barts this week

Gas stations ought to start breaking down the price of gas by showing what the state/local/fed portion of the taxes are per gallon. I’d guess the outrage would shift elsewhere…….

Well that sucks, just filled up the truck at $2.95 here in SC and am driving to Columbus, Ohio tomorrow. Trip will easily cost $200+ just for gas.

If it takes months for oil to get to us, how can they jump the prices up by a dollar in the first week?
And we know how oil companies are. Once they have us paying this high amount, they will keep it high for the summer

If you knew that there would be no bourbon production on the shelf starting in 3 weeks would you sell me your bottle of bourbon for the MSRP?
Replace bourbon with water if you want.

We shouldn’t have bombed Iran

Let's keep this going with the bourbon analogy. The demand from peak COVID is dropping big time and many distilleries are overproducing for what the future demand is going to be. Most prices have still gone up on most products, even though lot of stuff just sits on shelves these days.

Supply and demand will take over in both markets. Bourbon producers are missing their mark and distillers are in trouble and folding now (see craft beer).
You can find ER sitting on shelves for MSRP these days (inflation adjusted ain't that far off)
Refiners (US based) are in the same boat. Demand isn't exactly skyrocketing so that is why you are seeing consolidation and shutdowns.
Global demand is different and can/will reach out and touch the US.

So you’re telling me you want to pay a dollar more per gallon?
