What's sad is this Gary guy wants to do good and bring people together (does he?), but all he does is widen the gap between the two races.

Doesn't seem to.
The problem with people like Gary is that the do not understand nor do they care to learn the nuances about many of these "issues". He is the kind of person that points out the lack of black CEOs among Fortune 500 companies and immediately claims it is racism. The same with black head coaches in the NFL and any other situation where blacks appear to be disproportionately represented.
A true activist - one who wants things to get better - looks at those issues and asks "why" before he or she immediately throws the race card. If I wanted to make my community better, the first thing I'd do is ask what my community can do to better itself. I'm not going to disparage "better" communities in an effort to drag them down to my level. I'm more concerned with how to pick my community up. If there is an injustice that is holding us down, we'll deal with it accordingly, but I'm going to make damn sure we have our own house in order before we start looking for external problems.

I read the rouge collection because I enjoy hearing different perspectives, but the Trudy White article was a prime example of a kiss the ring mentatlity that the black community pretends that doesn't exist here.
The stink about White is that she's been largely protected by the race card.
Skin color does not excuse behavior of any kind.
