Good lord. I would have beat his arse just on principal. You get pulled over, just give them your license and registration and insurance, if you don’t have it get your ticket and be on your way. It ain’t hard.

I watched the whole damn video last night right after he posted it and I couldn't help but think about how his whole demeanor throughout the encounter was exactly like a spoiled 16-year-old girl when Daddy takes his credit card and the keys to the BMW away from her because she got a C on her report card.

That's the real question here. Most departments can run an insurance check and know whether or not the vehicle has current insurance, whether or not the driver has the insurance card with them.
If he just didn't have the proof of insurance in the vehicle but the cop was able to run an insurance check and confirm the vehicle has insurance up to date, then I don't mind him being let go. But if he truly didn't have insurance, thats bullshite. He should've been ticketed and had the vehicle impounded and had to call somebody to come pick his arse up.

It’s comical how he thinks improper equipment isn’t probable cause for a traffic stop. And of all the worse things in Baton Rouge these guys don’t have anything better to do? This is literally how you pull drunk drivers or those WITHOUT VALID INSURANCE off the road before they hurt someone, or worse, kill someone. The city-parish is broken up into a bunch of smaller areas that have dedicated patrols and specialized divisions or details patrol for certain things. I wouldn’t doubt this is one of those cases.

Or at least to let the driver know they have a light out. Most of the time a cop will let someone go with a warning in that case.
