How would one even go about fleeing? Where would you go?
When I was a kid in Western PA, my friends and I went on a hike in the middle of the mountains, and ended out in the deep woods, at least 2-3 miles away from civilization. We stumbled upon some old caves (we called them Indian caves), including one which was a crevasse in the ground which led to an approximate 30-foot underground tunnel. When I was 14 (in 1989), before I moved to Louisiana, I wrote a note and put it in a glass jar and put it near the entrance to that cave, with my new contact info in Louisiana in case anyone found it. In 2015 I went back, and the jar was still there, untouched. I've always said that if I ever got caught up in a situation such as this, that I'd go to my cave and nobody would ever find me. Not the ideal situation, but a heckuva lot better than prison.

Some of the posts are very "different" from other threads already, if you will.
If by “different” you mean people not excusing his behavior simply because they share the same skin tone or are living in an SJW fantasy land, then, yeah, it’s “different”.

I’d rather go to state prison than be in OPP.

His booking photo makes him look about 6'3 or 6'4 with shoes on. Shave his head, grow a beard, and don't act like a pussy, and he'll be a-okay

Height in prison don’t mean shite if you’re soft... especially once they find out what he did

What you lawyers think of this one? They charge him with 2nd degree murder and don't put man slaughter on the table. Kid gets a damn fine defense lawyer and DA fails to get conviction on 2nd degree murder. He walks away and fades into the sunset.

I think so. The guy dying was probably the best thing to happen. He doesn't get to tell his side. Reasonable doubt will be injected.

Apparently he was a commercial real estate agent when he was arrested.
Man this dude is going to come out prison a fully functioning criminal if he ever gets out.

I can only imagine getting shite faced, fighting with some stranger and waking up possibly facing life in prison for something you may not remember even doing.
It's one reason why I don't drink at all.
Haven't drank more than five sips of alcohol in seven years.

Apparently Garrett was a really nice kid until his first drink.
Supposedly he has a long history of getting drunk and fighting, starting shite and throwing stuff. This is per mutual friends.
I feel awful for the ex gf... she has to feel responsible to some extent. And she isn't. That will haunt her for the rest of her days.
Curious if they try the I'm an alcoholic defense.

Wait so the dude he killed was black?
At least he’ll be able to run with the AB in prison

Agree. Esp since it's not a new charge. Maybe an ankle bracelet.
Was this set by the GJ? If so then his attny should be able to get it reduced to the original amt as soon as he can get in front of a judge and not an idiot GJ.
Nope. It says the judge raised the amt. Sucks for the dude, but no one involved has to be surprised by this indictment so it's not like he's suddenly more of a flight risk.

If he did it, he should have left the country before the indictment and warrant. He had plenty of time to research countries without extradition treaties with the US.
It's going to be a lot harder now with an outstanding warrant, but he should still try

These are the types of arguments that every prosecutor dreams will come out of a defense attorney's mouth.
