The use of God’s holy name in vain causes greater pain to the moral and more offence to the cultured than any other word in the entirety of the lexicon. It is a deliberate attack on the very foundations of our civilization and moreover our world.
Saying “goddamn” isn’t what that is.

You’ve already foolishly argued your incorrect point.

In the 1960s, Route 66 was a popular TV show-I think my Dad fell off the sofa during one show when they used the word "damn." First time I remember ever hearing a curse word on TV.

The third commandment isn’t about speech. Even if it was, the term “goddamn” doesn’t even mention God’s name.

It is an everyday slang word. If you would have spent some time in the military or playing team sports you would have heard it so much that you would be desensitized to it.

We have far greater problems in our society that need our attention

I heard it in a song on the radio the other day. They also allow shite and frick on certain regular cable channels. Times are a changin'.

Would it help if we broke down the word?

It is not saying ‘damn god’ like a lot of dumb old people think. It’s asking or insinuating god to damn something is damned by god.

‘Holy cow’ should offend you too by how sensitive this is and the true meaning of exclamatory phrases.

I always heard the God part bleeped out and damn was allowed. I thought it was strange.

No one seems to notice that The Who's "Who Are You" says "Who the frick are you?" and it never gets bleeped out on the radio.
