Due to the proximity to New Orleans, Baton Rouge would never be like those cities.

Everyone is overlooking a small historical fact, had Standard Oil not saved BR in 1927 both LSU and the State House likely would have been relocated elsewhere.

No state taxes are collected more than 6 miles offshore because Louisiana ends 6 miles out to sea. After 6 miles, you're in Federal waters. It goes back to the Louisiana Purchase, just like Texas's nautical boundary goes back to its annexation.

Probably like Tallahassee. A bunch of liberal academics and govt beurocrats. It wouldn’t be auston because people in Texas are more sensible when it comes to government.
