A friend of mine was recently diagnosed with Leukemia . Funny enough ive never met the guy but weve texted back and forth about football for 7 years.
Hes a Bama fan and one hell of a guy. Currently in ICU with issues moving his upper body. Good vibes would be appreciated. Football just hasnt been the same, man. Roll Tide, buddy..

Hang in there and keep hope - it's definitely treatable. My dad just went through treatment and for now is in remission.

He's been going through treatment and bone marrow procedures I believe.
The upper body paralysis was so sudden and they cant seem to figure out much.

Good luck to him. That's what my grandad died from. At his age, they said the treatments would kill him before the leukemia would. He ended up just quitting eating. That really is a terrible disease.

My dad struggled with intense nausea, and a torn up stomach and weight gain from all the steroids pumped into him to help fight the nausea.

Odd to see this posted today when I just Santa dropped a Christmas envelope of cash for a young woman who lost her husband to it earlier this year.
Positive thoughts for anyone dealing with this terrible disease. It took my dad. If you donate blood, ask your local hospital for the name of a leukemia patient to donate for.

I was diagnosed with CLL May of 2016. Haven't had to receive treatment yet, but I suppose it's probably not far down the road.

I saw your post and had to reply...my mom was diagnosed in March with AML and had passed away in August. My father and I had our hands full talking her to treatments, etc...but it was just too much in the end. We are having our first Christmas without her so I share your sentiments on leukemia. I do wish your friend and all who support him the best though! Fight hard by his side and of course ROLL TIDE to him!

I did it twice with chop inpatient chemo and the last time a bone mare transplant.
My doctor Andre Goy said my cells were missing a bacteria and the bone marrow took basically copies of the bad cells. He way of explaining was They needed to kill the bad cells and do the bone barrow biopsy to put a new copier in my body to produce good blood cells.
This was my doctor Dr Andre Goy.
Since he his French he speaks fast and you may not understand him.
He always did slow down and speak slowly trying to explain stuff to me. Really good doctor.
The nurses hated him along with the PA’s and other doctors. His treatment was aggressive at the time, but he is the best in his field. You want the best in blood related cancers this is your guy.
I had him at MD Anderson he is now in New York or New Jersey.
