freezer not working...need help diagnosing the issue.

So I have a GE profile stack/top and bottom refrigerator/freezer and I noticed this morning it sounded as if a fan or something was running and was running very loudly/roughly inside the freeZer part. I opened it up and it's not cooling like it should be and is only 41 degrees in there. The fridge side is still at 39 degrees so that seems to be ok
Any idea from the wise OT as to what my issue is? As you can probably tell idk know a lot about these damn things, been told Napoleon sells these things and to page him

If you behind it, you may be able to see where the fan is. Might have to remove a cover to do so. The fan may be really dirty and may be having trouble spinning like it should. Might be due to dirty coils.

The fridge has been in my garage for several years so the fan being dirty is entirely possible. Thanks

Was hard to tell and it has since stopped but I could def hear it more when I opened the freezer part as opposed to the fridge

that is your condenser fan motor going bad. Do you have the model number. I'll try to help you out till Nap shoes up.

My fan sounded like it worked, then didn't work, then worked again.
check your evaporator coils to see if they're icing over. If so, you need to replace the defroster.
Good news is with Amazon and youtube, these are both quick and easy fixes.

I had a similar issue once and found out the air vent was blocked with food. Moved it and the noise stopped and it started cooling again.
