I'm mean I guess if your company pays you'd go but not sure why they would waste so much unless they have some sort of client relation

I've never done one. The only good reasons I've seen are if a) you actually like your smallish firm and everyone goes, b) you get to wipe out all 12 hours in a long weekend and/or c) you're in workers' comp or something where all of you know each other and it makes sense to go.

if i wanted to move into a bigger role in the local bar programs, i could go to one and i believe they pay for it

i'm done after next year though to return to my normal, civilian life

I serve on a committee here in Mississippi. I think I'm supposed to have something ready for them at the beginning of October. Maybe I should start on it soon.

The key is picking a good general title where no one can have an expectation of what is coming. Then ramble for an hour
