Places in Dularge, Dulac, Montegut, Cocodrie, and Chauvin would have flooded like in Rita.

this would have been considerably worse than Rita.

the floor of my house in Montegut is pretty much right at 6' above sea level.
I came less than an inch from getting flood waters inside for Rita.

10'4 would have been over 4' on the inside.

Is there a map or website of where all the levees are? As someone outside those areas that has always interested me.

zoomed out a little more than the one Tarp posted.
Numbered 1-8 in the order of the gauges I posted earlier
that's my wicked awesome MS Paint skills ( ) with the numbers, so they may not be dead on balls accurate, but they're pretty close.

For Ida, Lake Boudreaux was being pushed out and created a reverse head where the Floodgates were holding in water instead of pushing it out.

for Ida, the Bayou Terrebonne Flood gate was pretty much destroyed because of this.
They aren't designed to hold pressure from the inside. So Bayou Terrebonne beating it to death for 24+ hours just tore it up.

Dad stayed for Ida said in his 65+ years living in Montegut he's never seen Bayou Terrebonne that low in his life.

The rain finally showed up in North AL. Fortunately, the heaviest bands missed us by a few miles. A friend not too far from me got around 10" of rain, a little farther west has had over foot in the past two days.

I can confirm 7’ of water under the camp in Dulac. We are just south of the levee. The levee protected as it should for those within the protection.

It exacerbated the affects to those outside.
