French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has ordered the closure of all non-essential public locations from midnight (23:00 GMT Saturday) in response to the coronavirus outbreak. The measure applies to restaurants, cafes, cinemas and discos, as well as non-essential businesses. Mr Philippe also called on French people to reduce their travel, especially between towns. France reported a sharp rise in cases on Saturday, from 3,661 to 4,499.

If they shut restaurants down here, I'll be pissed.

My wife can't cook worth a shite.

So grocery stores, Walmart, target, all the shite that everyone seems to be buying out will still be open...so it's stupid as frick to go crazy with mass quantity purchases. I haven't been to anyone of those type of places in 4-5 days, before this shite got crazy. I am not going to stock up on anything extra for this stupid shite.

As they should. A lock down would destroy our economy.

Of course. That's a rather low bar of a word.

If they close restaurants and bars, walmart and target will get worse than it already is.

All this "peace, love and understanding, acceptance etc" bullshite here in Portland is going to fade quick when alot of the young realise they dont know how to do anything for themselves..and dont have 87 days to grow a carrot from seed.

The social fabric is about to completely unravel in this country in a Lord of the Flies dystopia.

The only thing that keeps me from thinking it would be total chaos is people seem to have been buying up things for at least three or four days. So, most people should be OK for a few weeks or a month. Plus, I noticed pharmacies, convenience stores, and party stores are almost fully stocked. Not to poli up the thread, but I'm guessing Trump would resist this unless really having it forced on him.
