Fifty bucks? No, no, no. This is a Rouchefoucauld. The thinnest water-resistant watch in the world. Singularly unique, sculptured in design, hand-crafted in Switzerland, and water resistant to three atmospheres. This is *the* sports watch of the '80s. Six thousand, nine hundred and fifty five dollars retail!

Well upgrayedd, at the time these were like having gold in the bank and many wealthy investors took aim. One thing that's interesting, the Fargo company held a marketing campaign and made advertising certificates which were advertised all across the country. As you can imagine, people would attempt to cash them in at local banks. So to tell the difference, Fargo placed a NOT FOR LEGAL TENDER stamp on the edges of each advertisement.

And you can see here that stamp.

While it's not worth $2k, many collectors would pay up to $20.00 for each of these.

Cohen & Sons in New Orleans would be where I'd start.

There's a place on Royal St in the French Quarter full of old guns and coins. Might be Cohen & Sons, I can't remember the name, but they seemed legit when I went in there with some visiting friends.

Yes, Cohen & Sons specializes in old guns as well as rare currencies. That's why I thought it would be a good place to start.

I suggest emailing the auction houses that have sold them, they usually will give a free preliminary auction appraisal based on a picture.

A few have sold in the $200 - $500 dollar range although not all the same year of issue. Condition also matters a bunch. Heritage Auctions in Dallas is one place that has sold them.

I'll probably give them a call and see if it's something they would take a look at and who knows, at the worst it's given me an excuse to go to the Quarter and get vomit/piss on my solid gold driving moccasins.
