“We could have never imagined someone would rent a home in our luxurious 5 home subdivision”

*OP currently has 1 of 5 luxurious homes immediately next door to him being rented

Holy shite, 6 pages and not a single op upvote. I knew I would grin when I clicked on the post but this is too awesome.

The 5 homeowners in your neighborhood are insufferable count. IMO

I live in the land of gated communities, where you pay a lot a month in HOA fees, plus an annual fee that is thousands, so you can pay to play on your community golf course. We didn't want that (we are youngish for this area). Bought a home in a quiet, non-gated neighborhood of 44 houses. Neighbor's house was a very sick and elderly woman who never returned after Irma nearly flooded her home. Went in to foreclosure. I assume the couple that moved in bought it, but I don't know, or care. Nor do I know if the other 42 homes are owners are renters. I pay $100/year to an HOA who does...Not sure. But, if people take care of their property, who cares if they own or rent?
I get that renters may not care as much, but, the OP said the property was bought for above asking price, so wouldn't his renters be paying more? Probably more than a mortgage.

My HOA tried to do this when I bought a second property next door as a rental. I threatened to sue them and they never brought it up again. I hope someone sues you too.

My HOA restricts rentals.

There's a set percentage of homes that can rented out and you have had to live in the house for 3 years as a primary residence before renting it out.

With that said, I live in a 650home neighborhood. ... Not a 5 home "neighborhood"(I assume y'all live on one street?)... And the situation as described makes the OP sound like a bitch.

It's summer now, so it is slow, only $40K. During season, we have houses on the beach renting for $80K/month. TRASH!

$40K/Month

What are the races/nationalities of you & your current neighbors?

OP is 100% worried that "ethnics" are going to move near his home. Also, 5 houses ain't even really a neighborhood, pal.

I stopped at a Publix while I was down there a few weeks ago and OMG the old people. That shite would drive me crazy, it was like the entire store was in slow motion.

Bern’s and Mon Venus were still great though

Publix was in Bradenton
