Army Drills are 'on the trail' for 2-3 years. But there are several basic training sites, and all of them have hundreds of drills. Most people didn't go to basic at the same time or place, so it's not a very good indicator. It's damn near impossible to speak and dress like a soldier without training, though.

I just don't understand why the guy who was actually in the military couldn't just say something to the effect of "Hey man, I know you aren't actually an Army Ranger and I'd appreciate it if you'd respect the position by not impersonating them."

Why do soldiers always have to bring up there fallen comrades? The guy was 100% in the right for calling him out, but I hate seeing guys mentioning their fallen friends among people in a public setting.
