It’s pretty much the same size as an F150 from the early 90’s.
With fuel prices being driven through the roof, I can see buying a mid-sized truck in order to get the better fuel economy.
Of the recently redesigned mid-sized trucks, so far the Nissan Frontier is the best looking one I’ve seen.
The new Tacoma comes out next year so maybe that will be back on top.
I have a 2014 Tacoma and it’s the best truck I’ve ever owned. It (as 150k on it and it’s still like new.

Yes, the only problem is Ford will not make enough until 2030 to drive.

Best Ranger ever. Would love to find one in good condition.

I really just want a 2 door small pickup like the old rangers.

Much better than last one they put out. But I would still pick the Tacoma or even the new Frontier.

That's probably the decked out model with a $40K+ price tag.

My neighbor had a 1991 Ranger. Good truck. He sold it to his FIL who still drives it.

I test drove a 2020. It was between that and an F150. I had a Frontier before, Explorer Sport Trac before that.
Truck I drove was a Lariat FX4. Had all the bells and whistles. Easy to drive.
The thing that made the decision was the back seat. Somehow it had even less room than my Frontier. The cab needed to be about 1-2’ longer.
I love my F150. But I kinda got used to driving smaller trucks and honestly it still feels weird being in that big of a truck. If the Rangers are a little roomier in the cab, I’d look really hard at one.

That’s just an Explorer Sport Trac

I really like the new Frontier. That might be my favorite mid sized truck right now.
Almost bought a second gen Sport Trac ago 12 years ago; glad I didn’t. The folks I know who had them were always getting repairs. They drove really well with the independent suspension though, and you could get them with a V8 for a while.

I remember seeing this generation Tacoma come out and thinking that it was nearly full sized. It was very close in size to the first generation Tundra at the time, and bigger than the old T100 Toyotas. Pretty close in size to the mid 1990s domestic full sized trucks.
I saw a new Tacoma parked next to a new Silverado the other day. The Silverado absolutely dwarfs it. All the new full sized models have gotten so large that I am not sure I could reach into the floor of the bed and get something out of it without a step ladder….and I am over 6’ tall.
They all just keep getting larger.

Yep. Mine never had anything big, just a bunch of small stuff that was really annoying. For example, I had to replace the thermostat housing 3 times. The line came off the water pump into this plastic housing that bolted to the top of the motor. It kept cracking and dumping coolant all over the top of the engine. If you didn’t do your own maintenance I could see that getting expensive really quick. I had to change a wheel bearing I got quoted at $800. I changed it myself for $175 and it took me longer to take my tools out than it did to change the bearing.

Yes they drove amazing. Great riding car. Mine had vinyl floors, which was great for being in construction and later for having kids.

No it is not. It’s more like the size of the 90s Dakota.
This is a 1992 F150. GM trucks have a bigger profile now but Ford and Dodge full size trucks from the 90s were big.
