and its a complete unrelated coincidence, that the government announced, it is going to be giving out $8k incentives to people who go buy electric vehicles. nothing to see here, these things are completely unrelated to each other

They really are completely unrelated. The car has always been eligible for the $7,500 credit, and under the new rules won’t be eligible at all. This is just a straight up price hike due to supply chain costs.

By the way, the consumer can sign their credit over to the dealership and get a chunk off the msrp. It doesn’t even have to be redeemed by the consumer.

I’m not sure the transferability of credits under the new law is fully understood yet, but it will create some interesting models.

So under this new plan, a new Mach-E will cost $15,000 more than it could have been purchased for last week.

I have a friend that makes a very nice living getting allocations for high-demand cars and flipping them when they are delivered. He was one of the ones that had a Montana LLC back in the salad days of tax avoidance.

So...$7500 tax credit in IRA.

EVs go up +7500.

See student loans-college cost

See Medicare/Medicaid-medical cost

Maybe not tax avoidance, but you can still register your car in Montana if you have an LLC there. Easy to do.

You would now pay for the GT Extended Range edition: $69,895.

Cut it down 200 bucks and it’s real nice
