An OT poster here jokingly changed the Wikipedia page of someone with some disparaging remarks. He was then arrested and convicted of a felony.

So you think he should have his constiti rights stripped away?

I'm sure you have never ever done anything so horrible right?

Sorry I had a couple Xanax in my pocket one evening while in college and didn't have an active prescription.

Glad you love freedom and the Constitution

You've lived a clean law abiding life outside of that incident? If so, you should be able to have your record expunged. Let's just not act like you're a victim of anything.

How about a little more detail?

Exactly what were they convicted of?

no, I was a drug user but always a tax paying productive member of society. Have never done anything violent and besides my simple possession I've had a DWI

If you're not that guy anymore then good for you. I bet you can get your files cleaned up and re-earn your rights (I'm not well versed on the system so maybe not)

I'm not particularly white knighting for you but I'd bet that 75% of this board has done some illegal drugs or driven over the legal limit too. Most of them just didn't get caught

no, my issue is now I live in the Bay area California and even though had my record witheld by the conviction judge judge Willard in Orleans CDC before I moved. he praised me for being a good example and doing everything I needed to as a member of society , Ive talked to several people regarding and I haven't gotten a clear enough answer, so hesitant to purchase a firearm to place in the bedside nightstand in my house I pay a mortgage on. I have an $11k property tax bill due but can't legally have a firearm to secure my dwelling. Seems pretty fricked up if you ask me. And the fact que3rs like Martine love government grabbing freedom is alarming.

you're being generous

I'd say closer to 90% of the gun toting red blooded freedom loving Americans probably have gotten drunk and snorted a line in college or taken a pill they didn't have a prescription for or drove after a few beers after a football game

This is pretty much my entire late teens, all of my 20s and some of my early 30s too.

I have a squeaky clean record too.

I don’t think any convicted felon should have the right to own a gun or vote regardless of whether someone arbitrarily determines they are not a threat to society.

It doesn’t have to be arbitrary. There’s a pretty clear distinction between violent and non-violent crimes.

Don’t CC, but I will list my pistols as I just went on a little buying spree. Have had a Glock 17 for years that I keep by the bed.

Bought my wife a S&W M&P 380 Shield before Christmas. She travels a little over an hour to her hometown at least once a week and needed something to protect herself.

Also bought a Glock 48 to keep in my truck a couple days ago. Actually I bought some camo and got home and was like frick this, I can keep wearing what I got and went back and exchanged it for the gun. Best I can tell is it’s a little bigger than a 43, but just as slim. I’m going to shoot it tomorrow at the farm. Looks like a pretty nice little pistol.

Have always had a pretty good grasp on rifles, but I’m kind of lost when shopping for pistols. I just went with name brands that felt comfortable.

What are some other pistols that I should have my eye on? Wouldn’t mind building a little variety.

Found your problem. California doesn’t give a frick about your 2A rights. Democrats only want the government, and the people who protect the elite to have weapons. The working class in CA are subjects, not citizens.

I'd recommend the CZ brand.
