If you can get all your work done by lunch, your supervisor needs to be fired or needs to be taught about stretch goals!

Working shitty jobs in high school and college made me want an office job more than anything. Now that I have one, working in an office makes me want to blow my brains out. I have another 40+ years of it to look forward to, but I assume it will get better when I'm not doing such menial tasks.

I can promise you that farmers work much more than an 8 hr day, except for the winter when all they do is hunt.
And I can promise you that you missed the fricking point.

Drink lots of water so you can pee every hour. Gives you a good excuse to walk around.
Spotify...specifically high intensity music.
Netflix if you can.

Sorry to bring the bad news, but nope...it doesn't get better

That's why I love my job now. I get here at 5:30am and leave at 1:30 every day, just as I'm starting to feel that afternoon drag. My last job I worked until 5-6 every day and it sucked so much.

I work 10 hour days in the summer in an office and drink lots of coffee and walk around frequently. Mondays are rough
I do the same (4 day work weeks - summer only). If you don't believe in resurrection, be at my workplace at 6 pm on Thursdays.

Or, just get the wifi password and mooch off of the company's network.
They won't give that to me.

Get up often. Cocaine and coffee as mentioned.

No one is sitting at their desk, staring at their computer for the full 8-9 hours per day, 5 days a week.
For 99.99% of the people in the world I agree with you on that statement, but there is this old lady at my office who is insane. She is either one of those people who can sleep with her eyes open, or she is a robot. She is legit at her desk for 8.5 straight hours a day, it's insane.

It's really not all that bad. I have my Spotify Premium, wireless headphones, endless supply of bottled water, stocked fridge, dual monitors, laptop docking station, free catered lunches, happy hours, transit subsidiary and the list goes on and on.
When I start to think about how my job, is indeed, boring from time to time, I immediately ponder how shitty life would be making >$40K per year doing manual labor at some shite job. So be proud of the fact you have a college degree and represent the small majority of the educated population. It will get better, because you have upward mobility at your feet.

Not a problem.
I bust my arse all day keeping my team going. I don't usually have any downtime.

I been there. I worked with a lawn company for like a year in the middle of the summer and that was enough for me to know working 10 hours a day in the heat was not my thing

I've tried the desk job thing, it's not for me. I have to have some time in the field, some time in the office. I can't stay glued to one place.

Well some of us have specific job training that doesn't involve the field. I could go get some field work and apply for food stamps.

I always take my lunch break. Ill eat for 15 minutes and then walk outside for about 30. A large portion of my job consists of selling so I like to stand up while In on the phone.
