Have no idea, I guess he was content until he discovered he could climb. He’s big for 2 and a half too

I've never minded if my kid sleeps with us on occasion. Eventually he will be a grouchy teenager so I don't want to miss out on his sweet years.

We never had to, but I've heard of switching the door know so you can lock it from the outside.

My son also used to have a slide bed, and loved to sleep on the floor underneath instead of on the bed. I just let it slide and put some extra pillows blankets under and called it his fort.

He also really enjoys sleeping on the couch in his room instead of his bed. No reason to put up a fight if he's sleeping, IMO.

We put crib mattress on floor. Good transition before moving into a big bed.

My youngest daughter would wake up and get in bed with us practically every night around 11pm. I slept better with her in the bed because I knew she was ok. When she stopped I'd wake up 1-2 times per night and check on her. I'm use to someone sleeping next to my back.

I would just be happy to have the kid sleep regardless of where he was. One thing you might try though is making a nest in the bed out of blankets, pillows, etc. Some kids really like that.

Every kid is different. Our first never really did. Our second comes in during the night and he's about 6. Our youngest never does. Just go with the flow.

People downvote melatonin, but don’t see how unnatural and downright cruel it is to make your kid cry it out. Co-sleeping is something we have only done since the dawn of time, surely it’s not that important.

We made her cry it out, but after 2 years said F it. Slept in our bed till 5, on the floor till about 9-10, and on the couch till 11. Now 12, in her room and doesn't want much to do with us.
