As your Fox News reference (among others) demonstrates, we are living in highly divisive times. I believe we should approach this in a NON-IDEOLOGICAL manner and hope you are able to begin doing so soon.
Yep. What is see from my side is a flippant attitude of "ehhh, whatever. As long as I'm ok, frick everybody else"
I guess the other side (according to you I guess) sees it like, "well if it's going to happen anyways then let's not worry about it"

So, yea let's open up America. Hundreds of thousands of people will die in 2 months, but frick it, they didn't deserve to live anyways.
This post is just silly man.
No one here is saying it’s as easy as black and white or a light switch. And you do not know how many people would potentially even if we did go full open. Stop being dramatic and making sweeping generalizations or yes, you are a troll.

Ignorance is suffering. I am concerned that you are suffering needlessly.

Are you serious? thousands of people have died in a month. hundreds of thousands have died in the world. That's not my opinion.

Get your signs out, baws.
Pentagon extends travel ban
Texas closes schools for the rest of the school year
Florida closes schools for the rest of the school year

This is what envy looks like. The party of envy, ladies and gents.

lol you're in the wrong place pal. The OT just discovered that there are "desperate" people in this world and are now white knighting like

Just wait until this is over and they start telling these same people to get a real job

That's what you get from somebody who is concerned about his dependents and employees? Seriously? And FTR, we are ALL self-interested.
Pimp's Postulate #317 states:
He who most loudly & publicly announces his " UNIQUE selflessness", is far more likely to be a self-absorbed scoundrel than a humanitarian.

Yep that's exactly what I'm getting. What I'm getting from all of this is that people who in any other circumstance would be telling these protestors to get a real job. Shouldn't they have planned for this?
I wonder why it's different now

The mistake you are making is conflating commonly held sentiments into some kind of amalgam that you are applying to those of us who want to get back to work. I do understand your lack of patience with the “ I am untouchable captain of the universe” type that has everything figured out perfectly ( until they don’t) though. But extending that to people who want to get back to providing for their families and employees is just sheer nonsense.

Look man. I get it what you are saying. And I'm frustrated too. Obviously I can't express that on this website efficiently enough, (there are too many people talking) but what I see, specifically with these protestors are a group of people who feel like the government has let them down. Or whatever. You know what I mean. Which yea, sure I agree with that.
Of course, most of these protestors are Trump supporters, and in turn are supported by Trump. I'm not turning this into a Trump bashing discussion, but will say this....
I know that the government is a huge mess of politics, red tape etc, but Trump is the leader of the government RIGHT NOW. Why is he assumed to be some plucky, scrappy down on his luck cheerleader/bystander when things go wrong by a number of his supporters? Why can't they ask him something like, oh I don't know Why are you letting this happen? or Why did that bill you signed not help ME out?
Why can't there be any criticism pointed at HIS actions, and not his latest scape goats?

I didn't say that. I said he deserves criticism for not actually doing anything to help out his base supporters(probably because he takes their support for granted) Which is something that we all deserve.
Conservatives say that the Democrats take the black community for granted, which they do. I'm saying that Trump is taking his base; poor white working class for granted, which he is. It's easier to keep people angry and voting right?

Clown like you criticize his actions no matter what. Closed travel from China early? Racist. Directed Congress to give CDC and FDA billions of dollars to ramp up response in the early weeks of this virus' spread in the US? Democrats stonewalled. How about you look in the mirror and start criticizing yourselves for the ignorance-based behavior you all have exhibited these last nearly four years?

I think the vast majority of Trump voters never had any expectation that the government would somehow save them. I think more than half probably have deep antipathy about any kind of assistance and most of the rest just want to get back to work. The very few fiscal Conservatives and Libertarians who still exist are likely apoplectic about the implications of all this and what it means about our future. Trump voters are way more likely to just want the government to get out of the way, which obviously includes going back to work.

My quote

So he did try and help us out then. From what? The flu? Why would he even need to do that?
So now we are full circle. Trump tried to help us all out super early against something that we now deem inconsequential because people die anyway. Was he overreacting?
