Two is the hardest number until you get to about five.
Two kids fight. Three is no more difficult than two.
As for financials, there's always a lot more flex in your budget than you realize until you have to squeeze. I like kids, though, and I'm glad I had a bunch and close. I love my family.

Had twin girls to kick start it but wanted a boy and luckily got him on #3. Attempted to give him a little brother but #4 was a little sister.
3 girls, 1 boy. That’s where I called it quits. I love them more than anything but I couldn’t risk the chance of a having a 4th daughter.

Tables are square and have 4 chairs.... and I want to retire one day.

WTH. They would like a girl. I asked a question. I'm not looking for anything. I'm retired & my kids are grown.

We wanted one more, ended up having twins, a boy and a girl, for a total of 5.

We have always had it in our heads that we wanted 4 so there wasn’t really a decision for us except on timing.
We had 2 boys back to back then waited 3 years and tried again. Having a girl this time and will probably knock out #4 relatively quickly after.
For you situation I’d just go until you feel complete. If you think you want another now you will probably have that feeling but stronger later.

A couple of reasons.
1. We both come from big families and wanted at least 3.
2. We wanted at least three so that there is always a mediator for two of them.
3. The thought of them growing up and one dying leaving one alone was painful to think.
4. I wanted a son. Ended up with three girls.
We were considering four but we are way too old now. Our youngest was born when I was 45 and my wife was 40.

I have to think money is probably going to be the biggest factor.
My wife and I just had our first and he is 2 months old, after these last 2 months I can't imagine wanting to have another. Granted I'm an only child so the "they have to have a sibling!" argument that my wife likes to use doesn't really matter to me.

Buddy of mine/wife had 3 girls and he wanted a son. He now has 4 girls. They’re done. Paying for four weddings a few years apart is costly.

Had two girls, knew financially I needed to stop

Money and lack of sleep with newborns. We would have had to have my wife stop working for a 3rd with daycare costs being what they are. No regrets for us. I am almost 40 and couldn’t handle another newborn at this age (younger one is 4).

We stopped after 2 because we had a boy & girl. If not for that we’d have had another one

Friend of mine has 7 girls....kept trying for that boy

Have two girls currently, 5 and 1. Twins is running rampant in my generation on both sides of my family. Scared of having two more girls trying for a boy.

Same situation and same ages.... we didn’t know what to do and loved not having to change diapers and finally we were able to sleep all night. However we knew the joy of having a 3rd would outweigh the sleepless nights and diaper changes... and we knew the kids would love it because they were at the same age as yours. My 3rd is now 4 and he was, by far, the easiest and it felt like those sleepless nights, diaper changes, bottles didn’t last long. That 3rd child picks up what the older kids are doing and it was a breeze. I say GO FOR IT! You won’t regret it!
