The Grantland Rice Bowl was played there for awhile. We went to watch our 2 nephews play for McNeese back in the 70's in a Bowl game there.

Sorry if it has been asked...Tad Gormley holds like 26K
Is that just not considered a high school stadium?

Tad Gormley is bigger than that whole list, yet didn't make the list

Gormley is a track facility used for football. Not a true football-only facility.

Is Gormley or Independence stadium considered the "home stadium" for a specific high school team? It seems to me like it's just a venue used for some home games, but not all.

Big enough that The Beatles performed a concert at Tad Gormley in 1964.

Y'all are really bad at reading an entire thread.
What high school football team does Tad Gormley serve as the home stadium for?

Memorial Stadium. Former home of the Southern Jaguars and the long-defunct Grantland Rice Bowl. One time the stadium was filled with water for a water skiing competition/demonstration, but mainly it a site for local high school football games.

Chs doesn’t want liability on school grounds for football games plus the parking nightmare for surrounding neighborhoods
They don’t have room to put stands at catholic with track there
The turf field is nice though
While CHS (and SJA) has a somewhat good relationship with that neighborhood, there is no way CHS could build a new legit stadium on/near campus today, people would go crazy.

Why isn't Tad Gormley on this list? It has to hold more than all of them

That's exactly my point. All of these teams may play their home games there, but it is not the "home stadium" for any one team. Also, as stated on like page 1 it's a "multi-purpose" stadium.
I'm sure the question will still be asked a few more times though.

Yeah, I believe it was at one time when they were renovating AW Mumford.

I gotcha. I remember them playing there, but wasn't sure if that was once their home stadium or if it was temporary.

lol, it's no different than Memorial in that regard. Multiple teams use it as a home stadium.
And Tad Gormley is 95% a high school football stadium, 5% high school track right now. It's literally the same type of stadium, the only difference is there is a track around one of them

Really?
Who uses Memorial as their home stadium, plus it’s used for other things as well. Multi-purpose I’d say
