Well, okay then

quote:

An administrator for Broward County schools escaped a demotion and a nearly $44,000 pay cut because she showed up for work on Halloween dressed as a flasher.
quote:

After hours of deliberation, including hearings from Mary Coker, faculty and the public, the board voted to hand Coker a seven-day suspension and sensitivity training.
quote:

Coker earns $154,286 as the district’s director of procurement and warehousing services. Superintendent Robert Runcie asked the school board to demote Coker to manager of materials and logistics, a position where the most she could get paid is $110,701.
quote:

School board member Nora Rupert has questioned whether the recommendation is too severe, since Coker had no prior discipline and received “highly effective” evaluations.

Government officials should never earn this much.

Not at that level, that's for sure.

It used to be that government employees would have salaries lower than the norm but great benefits and retirement. Now, they are often highly paid with great retirement. This is one of the reasons so many pension plans operated by government entities are in trouble.

Despite what the OT thinks, this is average for a Director of Procurement.

It’s a lot considering they have absolutely no accountability, and the money is from their constituents wallets. Plus they barely work.

Our infrastructure is failing. Our roads are in disarray. This bitch, and many other government parasites, are getting paid way too much. Yet we hear that we need to have a new stimulus for our infrastructure. Which means raise taxes....

frick that.

Florida must be expelled from the union! We can't afford to have states with people with that shitty a sense of humor. That was brilliant costume idea, and the entire Broward County administration has proven themselves to be cuckholds for taking action of any sort against that administrator over this.

Seems a little high for a school district position. Not saying your wrong but perhaps the money could be spent, let's say, more wisely.

Especially as it's likely a glorified clerical position in local government held by someone with no significant skillset or experience (other than years in bureaucratic county government doing frickall).

I actually know a little about the school system where I am and those at school board office are grossly overpaid.
