Big pet peeve of mine. I’ve even gone so far as to take them down myself and bring them to the owner with a polite request to no fly it torn or ripped.

I actually started to upvote you because I thought you were going to say you took it down and brought a new one to the owner…

I’ll also throw in this regarding the flag. I remember as a child, around the bicentennial year,
seeing someone in a T-shirt that looked like a flag, and my grandmother being completely disgusted because “the flag was not supposed to be worn as an article of clothing”.

A lot of the synthetic fabrics used to make them don’t burn properly in a traditional retirement ceremony.

The problem is cotton flags are not considered "all weather" and if flown outside are supposed to not be flown in inclement weather.

Beyond tattered flags the thing that bugs me is 90% of the flags I see flown at residences are flown at night unlit. I know the persons intent is to be patriotic but they can't seem to be bothered respecting the flag enough to know how it is supposed to be treated.

Probably not the wisest move. That could get you killed.

It is also trespassing.

I'm guilty. My solar light on the flag is old and only makes it to about 11 PM now that it's dark at 5:15. Need a better light.

I only display the American flag when a Republican is President. Old Glory is going back up January 20th

You sound just like the folks that say they’ll leave the country if Trump won. Grow up.
