by law, its not theft until he leaves the store or attempts to pass through a store exit

this is why places like home depot tell employees to do nothing to prevent a theft or they, and the store, will get sued

Yeah in the fricking retarded litigious world we live in, that's unfortunately true.

I mean don't worry about punishing the person doing the wrong thing, just worry about suing the ones trying to stop it. I'm sure he was going to take the steaks out before he left the store...

There is no Save-a-lot in Deltona, or Orlando. Wherever he was, those steaks were less than $5 per pound.
