Sad news to say the least for many.

The failure of two separate dams has prompted the evacuation of more than 10,000 people across central Michigan, several regions of which could be under feet of water as early as Wednesday afternoon. The National Weather Service late Tuesday evening encouraged residents along the Tittabawassee River and connected lakes in Midland County to leave their homes after “catastrophic dam failures” at the Edenville Dam, about 140 miles north of Detroit, and the Sanford Dam, located about seven miles downriver.
Sad news to say the least for many.

Pretty awful. Apparently the dams were privately owned up until this year and had fallen into disrepair.

We will see more of this in the coming years. Dams across the country have been neglected

We're rounding up the 2nd and 6th Cajun Navy Fleets for a rescue operations. Admirals Thibodaux and Hebert are asking for donations of GoPro cameras and Skoal to aid in the rescue attempts.

Bumped this to add that Michigan's infrastructure woes have gotten worse.

At least one of the two dams that failed is privately owned and maintained. It had been cited numerous times for poor upkeep.
