My Dad was a veterinarian. He suggested a topical treatment for fleas. Make a slurry of sand and rubbing alcohol and rub it all over the dog. The fleas get drunk and start throwing rocks at each other...problem solved.
Maybe they knew each other?

We have 20 acres and I treat my "yard" immediately around the house but my golden doodle and GSP do a good bit of woods roaming.
The first year we fought chiggers and ticks, then we finally got that under control, now it's fleas.
The soresto collar did wonders for ticks, the only thing that worked. It isn't doing shite on fleas, we have 2 dogs and 3 cats and we are really considering the new shot that's supposed to last a year regardless of what it costs.

Not sure, he didn't treat many presbys.
Of course he didn't treat many vets either.

Get a quart of Bifen from Tractor Supply and cover most of whatever y’all have that’s not wooded. It’s safe for kids and pets once it is dry.

Simparica Trio from some Aussie website. Was $60 for 3 months for 2 dogs.
$180 if I buy it in the states + a vet visit. Criminal

My boy battled the fleas this year. Just a weird year as we usually don’t have an issue with them. It’s like every year we get some kind of different insect or critter that goes crazy.
We tried the topical, the pills, flea bath. What finally did the trick was a flea collar

Ivermectin works for my dogs and my family. It does miracles with everything.
