this is a pretty important debate, don't interrupt if you don't have something constructive to add!

Three percent of the average chimp diet comes from meat. On average, nine days a year are meat days for chimps. But because chimps don’t share perfectly, most chimps probably gets less than this.

Predators will tend to go for the easier prey. If a leopard attacks and kills a chimpanzee, chances are it's not an alpha male who weighs up to 140 pounds.

Wolves are badass no doubt, but they choose their prey too. I watched a documentary where a pack of wolves wouldn't dare attack a healthy female moose who was with her calf. They assessed the situation and said frick that.

People who think that predators are just mindless killers have no idea what they are talking about. If a predatory animal gets hurt, they can't provide for their young and they will die. That's why they don't go around swinging their dicks in the jungle daring every motherfricker to check their paws. The only animal that even comes close to doing that is the male African lion. And that's because he is THE apex predator.

That's he most sensible post in the thread.

You're comparing an 800lb female moose whose only instinct is to protect her calf to a 140lb chimp.

To add, largest wolf killed in North America is 178lbs and 190lbs for the largest ever killed. Though uncommon wolves in Canada, Alaska and northwestern us can grow over 120lbs. Those are some big f'n wolves. Thanks Google.

Who you got?

Team Wolf all day here. Asked this on another board and couldn't believe people's ideas about chimpanzees. Figured I'd ask here and see if I get the same responses.

OK to clarify I guess I'll have to set the rules.
On the ground. All healthy adults. No time limit. Flat ground. Not confined space.

Chimps. 5 adult chimps would literally rip the wolves apart. They are ridiculously strong. Wolves rely on ganging up on one animal not massive brawls. It wouldn't even be close; I'm not sure if the wolves would manage to kill a single chimp before they were dispatched.

Don't really care. You'll be a pile of shredded meat after either one.
