Dear Diary,

I was looking back at a thread I posted to back on December 31st this morning concerning personal goals for 2016, and I am really proud to say that I've officially achieved two of my personal goals. After combining a considerably healthier diet than what I was previously eating (cutting out fast food almost entirely, incorporating more vegetables, eating smaller portions, and using the MyFitnessPal app to track my meals), as well as going to the gym religiously at 4 am before work, I've realized the following goals in just under 2.5 months:

-Lost 26 pounds
-Improved my quality of sleep and overall health
-Gone down a full pant size, and feeling more comfortable with my appearance
-Almost reached the strength levels I was at before college put a damper on my gym routine.

I still have a bit of a climb to reach my ultimate goal, but seeing results from when I posted those goals to today, it's a great motivation knowing I can do it.

*END OF CSB*

Congrats. On a side note, how the hell do some of you guys do this? Would take me years to adjust to that schedule.

Congrats! I have been working on the same type of goals. I have lost and added 20 or so pounds several times in my life, but this time I'm trying to make more lifestyle changes instead of being gung-ho for a couple of months and then getting burned out. Going good so far. Tons of veggies and healthy eating and regular HIIT. Working good so far. Also bought a large water bottle which has drastically increased my water intake.

I have the FitBit HR Charge that you can set alarms to, so I set 3 for 3:45, 3:50 and 3:55 to vibrate my wrist and that wakes me right up (I'm a light-heavy sleeper-I can sleep through a raging storm, but the slightest touch or sound that is out of place, I pop right awake).

The trick for me is sleeping in my workout shorts to where I just need a shirt, socks and shoes, chugging my pre-workout right when I wake up, and leaving the house before I can even process a thought about not going. On the downside, I'm yawning by the time I get home from the office around 6:30 or 7. I've turned into a pawpaw

I have one Dr. Pepper a week (because let's face it, cutting that out entirely is sacrilege). I've been lacking on cardio unfortunately, and I think that is going to be my next addition in the mornings or evenings. However, when I get to the gym in the morning, after stretching and getting my muscles warmed up, I hit the weights like my sex life: hard and fast. I typically spend 50-60 minutes of working one group of lifts a day with 30s between sets (weekly breakdown is back/biceps, triceps, shoulders, and my favorite-leg day). I make sure that my heart rate stays above 115-120, and in between lifts I'm walking around the equipment to stay moving constantly. The beauty of going at 4 am is that there are only a handful of people, so there is zero wait time, no pressure the rush through my lifts, and ample space to get done what I need to get done.

Sounds good man. In the process of doing that myself. It's amazing how much better you feel when you exercise regularly. Oh, and CSB.

I'm at the office for 6:00, having weights at home is the only way I manage to workout before work. I can wake up at 4 and just throw on my shorts and shoes and head out to the shop. If I had to drive to a gym and then bring all my stuff with me to shower up and get ready for work it just wouldn't happen.
