My first car was a corolla. I had it a very long time. Dogged the shite out of it. Traded it in with on 99k and got 500 bucks for it.

Could you imagine parents letting their 15-16 year olds getting into an uber alone lol

Or riding a bike down some Katy Texas hwy at 10 after dark
Outside of very urban areas, the vast majority of people will need a vehicle if they have a job, school, and school activities

Told all 4, I put up $5K, you get a part time job for insurance. They learned a lot from “mean old Dad” that they thank me for today.
Be careful what you say. Had a friend that told his kid at 12, whatever you save, I will match it at 16. The day came & the kid opened his bank statement to show Dad a $30K Balance. Youngster would up driving a BMW M6 :-)

sorry you can’t afford to buy your kid a nice car
Respect is earned. Respect for something that may not be the nicest but glad to have it.
When the kid takes care of the so-so vehicle (reliable but not really fancy) then buy them the nice car or truck.

I’ll be honest, we have put our kids in a United cab alone numerous times, granted they were 12-15 and it was a cabbie that we’ve been using for 10+ years. We knew him very well and he knew us and our kids.
We’ve also put them in Ubers a few times as well. I know some parents who’s kids are 14-16 and use Ubers alone like clockwork every weekend. It’s pretty common around here

That’s different than what I’m saying, of course the rides and drivers are screened but it’s not uncommon for 15 year olds to take Ubers nowadays.
Now would I let my 13 year old daughter take one by herself, hell frick no. She wouldn’t do it even if I made her

So you’re saying kids appreciate things they work for earn themselves? Stop with all that logic and common sense. That can’t be tolerated here.
Next thing you’ll be telling us is a kid who grows up being taught the value of things like effort, hard work, honesty, and being reliable is somehow better prepared for adult life than a kid who’s coddled and given everything their whole life.

Every well adjusted adult knows there is only one way to raise kids properly and that all situations are exactly the same.
What a dumbass you are

No thread goes the way it’s supposed to when you infect it. You literally bring nothing to the table but being a dickhole and a troll. The OT would be a better place if you never existed.
And how sad of a life you must have that you were on page one of this thread being a dickhole and while I was out actually going about my day working and interacting with the real world, you’ve been in here for like 10 hours doing nothing but be a dickhole. That’s pathetic. I honestly pity you.
ETA: I see Tweetle Dee & Tweele Dumb (aka Salmon & LUNCHBOX) are still in here with you. You three are having a grand Ole time in your idiot circle jerk.

This is all coming from the same guy that has repeatedly admits to being sexually abused as a minor by his housekeeper while he was a child.
I’m sure he has it all figured out
