Ehhh. I don't think you'll be making that flight, I'd go ahead and change it. The Propofol is going to give you the best nap of your life.

You may leak a little on the recovery bed.. and you may experience one of the longest farts in your life.

I've had a couple and most were easy peasy. The last however was a different story.

First case, lying on the table naked (covered) chit chatting with the nurse while she was getting things ready, she mentions to me she's done and she's going to call the Dr to let him know. She said he likes her to be ready before he arrives. Thinking he's in the facility, I was like ok. After about 20 mins lying there, I say something to her about how long it's taking him to get there, she then informs me, no, he was at home. When I make the call to him, he then gets ready and heads to the hospital. My blood is boiling. After laying on the table an hour, he strolls in and thought it was going to be business as usual. I tell him it was nice of him to finally join us after I laid naked on the table for an hour. It didn't stop there. I berated this guy for not having any respect for my time and I didn't let it go until he finally put me under and when I say under, I mean under. He later told my wife that I woke up during the procedure and got combative so he had to give me more. I didnt wake up until 9:00pm that night. While I felt vindicated for letting his arrogant arse have it, I do not recommend it.

I am dreading the prep.

It's not as bad as people make out. Just follow the instructions, drink the stuff down, and have a book or iPad close to the toilet. It will clean you out pretty fast. The procedure itself is just a matter of getting the IV and waking up with the toots. I've had two. I was a little foggy after the second one, but I felt good enough to stress test the system -- we went to an Indian lunch buffet.

I would not fly the day of the colonoscopy because that trapped gas will expand at altitude and will not be very comfy.

that wasn't my experience, after all of the hype(exaggeration,) I was expecting projectiles like the first night of the Gulf War, it was a huge nothing burger, I may have had to go to the bathroom twice, maybe three times, worst part of it, for me, was the fasting, I was particularly hungry the night before

Better than the alternative. Years ago when I went through chemo the guy in the chat next to me was going through chemo for colon cancer. He said he was just buying a little more time with family. He was a trucker who retired then found out he had cancer after it was too late. Said he was 240 before finding out and was 175 when we talked. Said he couldn’t get comfortable and was sick most of the time.

Does the cleanout medicine keep working AFTER the colonoscopy?

I have a flight soon after.

No but pretty sure you're not supposed to be driving, working with machinary, etc for at least 24 hours due to the propofol.

The prep and procedure are the biggest nothingburger ever.

Yeah, its no joke. One of my buddies got it in his late 30s. We are hoping he pulls through.

Just got home from my first. Piece of cake. Even the cleanout wasn't half as bad as people try to make it seem
